    Get ready for summer guide

From food to exercise to wellbeing, here’s how to get ready for summer

Counting down the days until summer? Us too. With the temperature getting warmer, the days getting longer, the sun getting brighter and that delicious summery feeling starting to blossom more and more each day, it’s the perfect time to kickstart some healthy habits. Shake off the very last of those winter blues and give your lifestyle a refresh, so you can get the most out of summer from day one.

Forget bikini bodies – we’re all about helping you to feel your healthiest, strongest and most invigorated. Here are some small steps you can take…

    1. Get active

A mix of cardio, strength training and stretching is an excellent way to get your body feeling energised. Make a commitment to fitting in some exercise every day and start to feel the benefits of becoming stronger, fitter and more flexible.

The warmer months are also the perfect time to start a new morning exercise routine. Waking up early and getting the blood pumping first thing can be a really energising and rewarding way to start the day – and now’s the time to give it a go! If you’re not naturally a morning person it may take a little getting used to, but the benefits are worth it.

    2. Get nourished

Warm days call for fresh salads, delicious smoothies and colourful fruits. Bored of all your go-to meals? Start by giving your pantry a makeover and getting stocked up on wholesome essentials – then it’s time to start exploring new recipes to get you excited about eating well. Fill up on lots of delicious vegetables, fruits, wholegrains, low fat dairy and lean protein and remind yourself again how nourishing it feels to eat healthy, nutritious food.

Leading up to the festive season, it’s also a good time to think about trying to cut back on alcohol, sugar and caffeine. There will be plenty of opportunities and temptations to indulge, so reducing your consumption now can help you get in balance and encourage you to make healthier choices when those end-of-year parties roll around. You’ll feel brighter and more energetic – and your waistline and wallet will both thank you.

    3. Get balanced

Summer is a busy time – so it’s important to look after yourself by making time for relaxation and rejuvenation. Getting into the practice now is a great way to prepare for summer, so you can enjoy the frenetic holiday season and start out a new year feeling refreshed, happy and centred.

Meditation and yoga are great ways to reduce stress, boost your energy, calm your mind and increase your positivity. Take some time each day to focus on your wellbeing, and choose an activity that makes you feel good.

From food to exercise to wellbeing, here’s how to start preparing for your most energised, vibrant and healthy summer ever.
