How to make a claim online

Register or Login to My Medibank

2Step two

Select 'Make a new extras claim' and follow the five simple steps to submit your claim.

3Step three

Medibank will then pay any applicable benefits directly into your bank account or send a cheque in the mail.

Get payments made directly to your bank account, or cheques posted through the mail.

Make sure you ask your health care provider if they offer on-the-spot claiming. This is the easiest way of all to claim; just swipe your Medibank membership card and your claim will be processed on the spot. Then all you do is pay the balance.

Make a claim with the Medibank Mobile App

1Step one

Download and install the app by searching for “Medibank” in the App Store (for iPhone users) or Android Market (for Android™ mobile users).

2Step two

Login using your Email and Password.
Or register with your Medibank ID.

3Step three

Click on “My Claims” and follow the instructions under “Make a Claim”.

4Step four

Medibank will then pay any applicable benefits directly into your bank account or send a cheque in the mail.

For claims you can't submit online:

The following claims can be made by mailing the accounts and/or receipts to Medibank with a completed claim form:

  • Ambulance services (medically necessary)
  • Claims involving compensation or damages
  • GapCover claims (surgeons, anaesthetists, assistants etc.)
  • Health appliances
  • Hospital accommodation
  • Individual claims associated to more than one individual
  • School accident
  • Natural therapies
