This March, workplaces around Australia are celebrating cultural diversity with A Taste of Harmony.

Created by the Scanlon Foundation, this fun and delicious event encourages colleagues to bring in a dish from their cultural backgrounds to share. By bringing people together to savour tastes from around the globe, it's a simple way to foster social cohesion, inviting us to connect, learn about each other's heritage, and appreciate the different experiences and stories we all bring to the workplace.

There’s no fee or fundraising involved – just pick a date in the week of 20-30 March and get everyone to start thinking about what dish they’ll bring.

To get your taste buds excited, here are a handful of our favourite dishes from around the world.

1. Poh's chicken curry

This sizzling dish by Poh Ling Yeow fuses the best of Malaysian and Chinese flavours and spices – coconut cream, long red chillies and fragrant hints of cumin, coriander, turmeric and fennel.

3. Vietnamese turmeric and dill fish

A succulent dish by Marion Grasby, laced with dill, turmeric and curry powder and served with vermicelli noodles – perfect for mopping up the rich, savoury sauce.

8. Patatas Bravas

Patatas Bravas is a recipe native to Spain and usually served as tapas. Bring the potatoes to life with some garlic, parsley and thyme.

9. Thai prawn fried rice

Another gem from Marion Grasby, full of fresh Thai flavours and the delectable taste of stir-fried, garlicky prawns.
