How do I load/reload money?
Funds can be loaded by bank transfer using internet banking.

Bank transfers will generally take one business day to be processed, but may take longer if you pay after 2pm on a business day, Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

What can I do with the money left on the card after my trip?
You can use the card at any shop that accepts MasterCard®, or use it online with the chosen foreign currency.
Alternatively, you can cash out the remaining funds in Australian Dollars at the prevailing exchange rate and have it transferred to your Australian bank account.
Simply log into My Account.
Will I receive statements?
No. Your transaction history will be available via My Account.
How do I manage the money on my card?
You can visit My Account. Here you can check your balance, transfer funds, move money from currency to currency and see a list of all your purchases or ATM withdrawals.
What if I forget my PIN?
You can contact Cards Services on 1800 098 231 (within Australia) or +44 207 649 9404 (if overseas).

Can I load foreign currency onto the card?
No, only Australian Dollars can be transferred onto the card.
Do I select Cheque, Savings or Credit when using my card?
Always select the ‘Credit’ option when making purchases or withdrawing from ATMs.
Will the transaction still go through if I don’t have enough money in the foreign currency to make a purchase?
If you don’t have enough money in local currency, the card will automatically look for available funds from your other currencies to cover the balance. The card will take funds from currencies in the following order:
- Australian Dollars (AUD)
- United States Dollars (USD)
- Euros (EUR)
- Great British Pounds (GBP)
- New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
- Thai Baht (THB)
- Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- Hong Kong Dollars (HKD)
- Japanese Yen (JPY)
- Singapore Dollars (SGD)
Will I be charged an ATM fee overseas?
We don’t charge you an overseas ATM fee for balance enquiries and withdrawals at ATMs displaying the Mastercard logo. However, the overseas ATM operator might charge you a fee.
Will my card expire?
Your card will expire 5 years after activation.
Will my name be on the card?
Yes, your full name will be printed on the card.
Do I need a PIN with my Medibank Currency Card?
Yes, you will need to use a PIN every time you use the card, unless there is the option of contactless payment.
What if I lose the card overseas?
You can call Card Services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1800 098 231 within Australia or +44 207 649 9404 from overseas (call charges may apply).
How can I get access to emergency funds?
If you have lost your card overseas and waiting for a replacement card to be sent, we can arrange for emergency cash up to the value of your card to be wired to you. This will normally be within 20 minutes of you contacting Card Services.
How long does the card take to arrive?
The card will arrive within 7-10 business days after you have ordered the card and deposited at least $100.
