Investing in the health and wellbeing of our community
We support a range of programs and activities to encourage a healthier body, mind and spirit. We are also working with Indigenous communities to help achieve reconciliation and to support health equality and better overall Indigenous health outcomes.
Our investment in community programs transforms our commitments into actions. We’re focusing on some of Australia’s biggest health issues – investing in community partnerships and activities, funding health and medical research, addressing mental health and Indigenous health equity and supporting our people to build better community health and wellbeing outcomes. In the 2021 financial year we contributed more than $3.6 million to the community.

We are proud to continue our long standing tradition of supporting health and medical research. Our Medibank Better Health Foundation aims to be a catalyst for positive change – investing in, advocating, promoting and disseminating research insights to promote healthy behaviours, inform policy and improve clinical practice.

Live Better at Home
We know that caring for yourself helps you to care for those around you. That’s why we created Live Better at Home, a free program of Eat, Move and Feel activities delivered by a series of experts.
As the official health and wellbeing partner of global running (and walking) phenomenon parkrun, we share their mission to create a healthier and happier community. parkrun organises free, weekly, 5km timed runs in nearly 400 locations around Australia every Saturday morning. Our partnership supports parkrun so it can continue making regular physical exercise more accessible to as many Australians as possible by breaking down barriers to entry and to encourage ongoing participation.
Just as we eat well and stay fit to keep our bodies healthy, mindfulness and meditation can help us keep our mind healthy. We’re proud to be the official health partner of Smiling Mind, supporting them in their goal of reaching 5 million young people by 2021. Our commitment will help Smiling Mind expand its valuable tools and resources, particularly focusing on families by providing parents with mindfulness programs they can use with their children.
