Dental information and claims

Medibank members with extras cover who visit a Members' Choice Advantage dentist will get 100% back on two check-up and cleans, including up to four bitewing X-rays (limited to two dental check-ups on all extras annually). If you had to pay for a check-up, it could be because the dentist wasn’t a Members’ Choice Advantage dentist, or – less likely – because you had more than two check-ups in a year with a Members’ Choice Advantage dentist.

If your cover includes 100% back check-up and clean at Members’ Choice and Members Choice Advantage providers, benefits are not deducted from your general dental annual limits.

It may seem surprising, but like all tooth extractions, having your wisdom teeth out is usually included under general dental in your extras. However, when you go to hospital there are other fees apart from the extraction itself, like hospital theatre fees, anaesthetist charges, and accommodation if necessary, and you’ll want to make sure you can claim for these.
