What is the Medibank Academy?

The Medibank Academy is an industry-first program.  A limited number of places in the Medibank Academy will be offered exclusively from 1 October 2023 to 31 December 2024 to new and existing members who purchased, extended, renewed and started Medibank Essentials OSHC membership through IDP.

How can I find out about upcoming Medibank internship or Mentoring Program opportunities?

All upcoming Medibank Academy opportunities and resources will be communicated to you by email. If you have opted out of receiving marketing emails, you will no longer receive communications relating to the Medibank Academy. However, you can always check this website for future updates and general information.

When can I apply for the Medibank Academy program opportunities? 

• The Job-Ready Skills program is expected to commence October 2023.
• Applications for the Mentoring Program are expected to open in November 2023 and March 2024.
• Applications for the paid 6-month part-time internship are expected to open in May 2024. The successful candidate is expected to commence their internship in July 2024. The 6-month paid part-time internship will be located in Melbourne or Sydney. Accommodation and travel expenses are excluded. 

If I cancel my Medibank Essentials OSHC policy, can I still participate in the Medibank Academy?

Unfortunately, no. You must be a current, eligible Medibank Essentials OSHC member to apply for and participate in any part of the Medibank Academy.

Can I apply for and participate in more than one program within the Medibank Academy?

Yes! We encourage all candidates to benefit from the Job-Ready Skills program, and apply for the Mentoring and Internship programs. 

If your application for the Internship program is successful, you wil no longer be considered for the Mentoring program. This is to ensure opportunities are shared between candidates. 

Do I need to be studying a specific course or discipline to apply for any part of the Medibank Academy?

No. The opportunities available in the Medibank Academy are suitable for a wide range of skills, so you can apply for Medibank Academy opportunities no matter what you’re studying.
