In FY25, we recycled 290kg of customer-facing employee uniforms, marking an important step toward reducing textile waste and promoting sustainable practices across our operations. This initiative focused on end-of-life recycling for uniforms used in our retail stores, ensuring materials were diverted from landfill and recycled.
Building on this success, we’ve expanded our commitment to circular economy principles in FY25. We are entering into new contracts that will embed uniform recycling as a mandated practice across both Medibank retail and Amplar Health nursing teams. These contracts are designed to ensure that all uniforms purchased under the program will be recycled at end-of-life, supporting a closed-loop system that reduces environmental impact and promotes resource efficiency.
This approach reflects Medibank’s broader sustainability strategy and our commitment to integrating circularity into procurement and operational decision-making. By making uniform recycling a standard requirement, we are helping to drive systemic change across our supply chain and contribute to a more sustainable healthcare sector.
