Things you should know
Offer eligibility
For new members who join on eligible combined hospital and extras cover from 28 October 2026 12:01am AET. Must not have held Medibank health cover in the previous 6 months unless coming off parent’s cover as a dependant. Must quote promo code 6WEEKSPLUS and set up direct debit when joining. Excludes hospital only cover, extras only cover, Ambulance cover, corporate covers, Overseas Visitors Health cover, Overseas Students Health cover (OSHC), Overseas Workers Health cover, ahm covers, and other selected covers. Must have Australian residence. Not available with any other offer. Not available to Medibank employees. Medibank reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
Weeks free
Must be up-to-date with premium payments and maintain your cover continuously for 28 days from cover start date to receive 6 weeks free. The 6 weeks free will be applied to your premium after the 28 days. This means your first few payments may vary. The weeks free will not be issued if you change to an ineligible cover, suspend or terminate your cover during this period.
2&6 month waits waived on extras
2&6 month waiting periods on extras are waived, but other waiting periods may still apply to your cover. Annual limits apply. If you're switching from a different health fund, anything that you have used on your current annual limits will count towards your annual limits with us. If you've reached your limits with your previous insurer, you may not be able to claim on extras straight away.
Live Better Rewards
To receive the Live Better Rewards points, you must be up-to-date with premium payments and maintain your cover continuously for 28 days without changing to an ineligible cover, terminating, or suspending your cover during this period. Must register for a My Medibank account and sign up to Live Better in the My Medibank app within the 28 days. Must be 16 years or over to register for Live Better. Singles and single parents will receive 15,000 Live Better Rewards points. Families and couples will receive 30,000 Live Better Rewards points. Points may take up to 6 weeks from your policy start date to appear in your account. These points may then be redeemed for rewards, such as gift cards.
