Award-winning innovation driving life-giving impact
16 September 2026
We’re proud to support Lifeblood and the life-saving work they do. In FY26, Medibank employees made 459 life-giving donations, with 179 people donating throughout the year, including 21 first-time donors. Together, these donations had the potential to help up to 1,377 Australians, demonstrating the tangible impact our people are making in supporting healthier communities.
This year was also a significant milestone for the program, with Medibank receiving the Best Innovation Award at the 2025 Workplace Giving Awards. The award recognised the success of our Every Drop Counts program and the innovative ways we have expanded participation through storytelling, team engagement and inclusive giving opportunities.
Throughout the year, we continued to strengthen participation and awareness through several initiatives:
- Lifeblood Champion Network – We launched a dedicated network of Lifeblood Champions across the business to encourage participation, share experiences and help build a culture of giving within their teams and communities.
- Inclusive Giving – In collaboration with the Medibank Rainbow Collective, we supported Lifeblood's latest steps towards donation equality, helping to foster greater awareness, inclusion and engagement across our workforce.
- Connecting People to Impact – Employees and leaders participated in a tour of Lifeblood's Melbourne Processing Centre, providing a powerful behind-the-scenes view of how donations are processed and the life-saving impact they have on patients across Australia.
- Building Awareness Through Storytelling – We continued to share donor stories and experiences across internal channels, helping employees understand the importance of blood and plasma donation and inspiring others to get involved, whether as donors, advocates or supporters.
The strength of our impact was reflected in three record-breaking donation months during September, October, and April demonstrating the ongoing passion and commitment of our people.
While growth moderated following the exceptional results achieved in FY25, the continued engagement of our employees, combined with national recognition for innovation, highlights the maturity and resilience of the program. We remain incredibly proud of our people for their ongoing support of Lifeblood and their contribution to creating healthier futures for communities across Australia.
