Medibank Private announces new creative agency
Australia's largest private health insurance fund Medibank Private has announced George Patterson Y&R has been awarded the contract to provide the fund's creative advertising for the next three years.
The appointment was confirmed by Medibank Private's board at a meeting on Friday.
George Patterson Y&R won the contract over finalists Badjar Ogilvy and M&C Saatchi for the provision of strategy, brand and integrated campaigns for Medibank Private's consumer private health insurance business.
The three agencies were shortlisted from a list of 14 applicants plus the incumbent. The agency review was sparked by the expiration of Medibank Private's current contract with M&C Saatchi. A robust probity process was overseen by marketing management consultancy TrinityP3, in conjunction with fund's procurement team.
Welcoming the decision, Medibank Private's Group Manager of Marketing and Product Tony Hall also acknowledged outgoing agency M&C Saatchi for their contribution.
"I would also like to recognise the good work that M&C Saatchi has delivered to Medibank Private. They have been an important part of Medibank Private becoming the strongest and most trusted brand in Australian private health insurance ," Mr Hall said.
Medibank Private also works with Boilerroom and MPG for the provision of other advertising services. These arrangements are not affected by the review process.
