Medibank Private strives for a healthier Australia

Medibank Private is striving to improve awareness of health and wellbeing issues by supporting events that encourage the Australian community to be active.

Medibank Private Managing Director, George Savvides, said, "We have an obligation to manage our members' funds in the most responsible way. Meeting members needs for the long term, in relation to their private health insurance and their health is at the core of all of our decisions - especially sponsorship decisions."

Sponsorships and partnerships are a key element in any companies marketing activities. There are a number of reasons for our partnership with various activities, such as:

 All health funds want to attract new members to keep their fund healthy financially.

 One way we do this is through promotions like sponsorship.

 A healthier Australia may help your premium. The greatest pressure on member premiums is the escalating cost of health care and the number of claims being made

 We believe that by encouraging Australian's to participate in physical activity, they will be healthier longer

 Our involvement in sponsorships does not change our commitment to responsibly managing our member's contributions.

 The cost of managing and marketing Medibank is still much lower than the average spend of other funds.

 Despite the lower than average spending, we continue to attract new members and currently cover 3 million people across Australia.

"Engaging in regular physical activity is an important lifestyle decision that we hope all Australians are embracing. We encourage, through our sponsorships, all of our members, our staff and the broader community to get the most out of life by keeping fit and healthy. " Mr Savvides said.
