New restrictions lead to the temporary closure of retail stores in Canberra

Medibank will temporarily shut 3 stores in Canberra from 5pm today following the announcement of a 7-day lockdown due to a case of COVID-19.

Stores in Woden, Belconnen and Gungahlin will remain closed until further notice, in line with ACT Government restrictions.

Head of Retail, Andrew Carlson said it’s important to do our part to prevent the spread of the highly contagious COVID Delta variant across Canberra.

“We will continue to respond quickly in this changing environment to protect our people, customers and the broader ACT community,” Mr Carlson said.

All team members will work from home during the lockdown period, supporting our customers across phone and digital channels.

“We encourage our customers to keep reaching out when they need us, with our retail teams able to support them through phone and digital channels during this period,” he said.

“We thank our customers for their patience while we all do our bit to keep the community safe.”

While retail stores in Canberra will be closed, customers needing support can find a range of resources at medibank.com.au, in their My Medibank app, or by calling 132 331.
