    Medibank stores continue to reopen

Medibank has now reopened 74 of its retail stores but with strict health and safety standards in place to protect our people and customers, following the easing of restrictions.

Retail stores were closed in March and team members redeployed across other customer support channels including our phone and digital network, working remotely from home.

Chief Customer Officer David Koczkar said 58 stores in metro areas and 16 in regional areas have been reopened, and the remaining stores in a staged approach and in line with advice from state and territory governments.

“While our customers have embraced our phone and digital channels during COVID-19, they tell us they would still like the option of speaking to us face to face. There will however be some important changes to protect the health and wellbeing of our customers and our team,” he said.

“Strict hygiene standards have been introduced as part of measures to protect the health of our people and all who visit our store.”

All retail stores will be cleaned daily. Perspex sneeze guards will be in place at all desks. Touchless hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance to the stores and limits to the number of people in stores at any one time will be in place.

“We will continue to work with governments in the states and territories to monitor the situation and continue to reopen stores when safe to do so,” Mr Koczkar said.

Customers should visit our website or My Medibank app to check their local store opening hours.

The remainder of our 82 stores will open gradually in the coming weeks and months.

Support is still available to customers by calling 132 331, 24/7 webchat or My Medibank app.
