Take a small step to better health on generation better day

Tuesday 21 January is Generation Better Day at the Australian Open and as part of the celebrations Medibank is encouraging tennis patrons and the broader community to get out and have a go.

The organisation's new Generation Better initiative encourages Australians to lead healthier lives by taking small steps to better health and to share their goals and achievements, no matter how small via #GenBetter.

"The initiative was launched in November with ambassador Rod Laver and has seen thousands of Australians make Generation Better pledges, supporting each other to achieve their goals and celebrate their successes," Executive General Manager - Private Health Insurance, Laz Cotsios said.

Visitors to the Australian Open on Tuesday are being urged to have their photo taken with the giant Generation Better sign and post the image to Twitter, Instagram or Medibank's facebook page using #GenBetter for a chance to win a behind the scenes tour of the Australian Open.

At Grand Slam Oval Medibank will be running events throughout the day - experience what centre court feels like and sharpen up your tennis skills; meet Rod Laver between 12:30-1:00pm for autographs, and see the Australian Open trophies up close at 6:30pm. There will also be roving promotional teams capturing your day at the tennis and massage therapists on-site to ease away the tension of watching the close matches.

Medibank is taking a stand for a better health for all Australians, not by pushing for big changes but by encouraging small steps. Generation Better starts that the belief that ever small steps we take towards better health can make a difference, and if we all take those steps and support each other, we can all achieve healthier, happier and better lives.
Everyone can be a part of Generation Better no matter what age, gender or fitness level.
