Medibank Private will continue to cover members of Ansett's health insurance payroll deduction scheme while it clarifies the scheme's financial situation.
Over 1000 Ansett employees pay their Medibank Private premiums through an employee payroll deduction scheme.
Medibank Private's Chief Operating Officer Mike Whelan said that the company was still clarifying the financial status of the scheme.
"However, our members are our first priority," Mr Whelan said.
"So while we clarify the situation, Ansett employees who paid their premiums through the airline's payroll scheme can continue to access their private health insurance as usual.
"The same situation will apply for the employees of other Ansett-owned companies that have a payroll deduction scheme with us."
