Medibank has today announced the signing of a 10-year lease agreement with Lendlease, for a 17,500sqm office space that will support our emerging Future Fit strategy.

Medibank is the first major tenant for Melbourne Quarter Tower situated at 699 Collins Street that will commence October 2024.

The office will be home to over 2,500 of our people and will be a place for concentration, collaboration and connection.

Medibank Group Executive People & Culture Kylie Bishop said the new office will be a place that encourages choice in how and where our people work, rather than a place you must come to because it’s Monday.

“We’re a healthcare company and we remain anchored in playing a role in supporting our people achieve good health and wellbeing, and this will be at the centre of all design elements.”

The space designed by Gray Puksand will include interconnecting floors with tiered voids, greenspaces, natural light, a Sky Garden, a rooftop basketball court, external terraces and a wellness offering.

Gray Puksand Partner Heidi Smith said they will make the workplace an inspirational, health centred environment tailored to Medibank’s unique culture.

“We’re so excited to be working with Medibank to deliver a new workplace aligned to their future fit workplace strategy. We want to bring people back together, to connect and collaborate in a meaningful way. The future of work is here.”

Medibank proudly embraces and promotes diversity and inclusion and the design at Melbourne Quarter Tower will be a celebration of this. It will provide space for various cultural practices, the design will acknowledge and show respect to First Nations people, our neurodiverse workforce, and those that require accessibility.

Medibank Group Executive Technology and Operations John Goodall said Future Fit gives Medibank people greater flexibility and the technology will seamlessly support connection and collaboration regardless of where someone chooses to work.

“Our technology will provide an equitable platform for all work methods, irrespective of location, culture, or personal circumstances,” Mr Goodall said.

Lendlease Executive Development Director, Brian Herlihy said Melbourne Quarter is one of the largest mixed-use urban regeneration developments the city has seen. It connects people and places with transport and technology in a green, amenity-rich, urban environment to improve wellness, productivity and social connection.
