    How technology is helping Medibank move from sick care to healthcare

    At Medibank, we’re playing a greater role in helping our customers stay healthy. Over the past few years, as we’ve worked to better support our customers’ needs at Medibank, we’ve increasingly focused on delivering preventative healthcare and providing customers with a more personalised approach to their health and wellbeing requirements. This is driving our transition to becoming a broader healthcare company, and is being enabled by a transformation of our digital landscape.

    Three years ago, our website lacked functionality and we had numerous outages a day across our systems - our customers weren’t happy. Now, we’ve transformed our digital front end and data platforms, moving to the cloud. Our retail claims experience has improved and we have a content management system that enables us to bring changes and products and services to market faster and empowers our teams to fix and implement things faster for our customers.

    As a result, our technology team is closer to the business and is able to offer deeper insights or alternative solutions to a problem the business faces. Our time is now spent looking to implement solutions for our customers to help improve their health and wellbeing. As health and wellbeing needs to be a priority for everyone.
