Extra extra! ahm customers get extra year to use their unclaimed extras limits

    ahm

For the second year in a row, ahm customers will have another year to use their unused extras limits, as part of the Medibank Group’s COVID-19 give back program.

The extras rollover will be automatically applied to eligible customers’ remaining annual limits for services such as dental, physiotherapy and psychology on 30 June 2023 – customers don’t need to do anything. It will exclude optical and non-annual limits. New customers joining on extras cover prior to 30 June 2023 will be eligible for the rollover.

Today’s announcement, valued at $17 million, brings the total COVID-19 Medibank and ahm support and give back program to a record $1.03 billion – the largest give back of any Australian health insurance fund.

Medibank Group Executive Customer Portfolios Milosh Milisavljevic said the rollover will give customers more time to make the most of their extras limits.

“While public health measures implemented during COVID-19 have eased, ahm extras claims still remain below expected levels,” Mr Milisavljevic said.

We made a commitment at the start of the pandemic to not profit from COVID-19, which is why are again rolling over unused annual limits for most extras services, giving ahm customers more time to use their cover and saving them money.

“Extras services such as dental, chiro and physio help customers take proactive steps to support their health and wellbeing, so it’s great that our ahm customers will have an extra year to make the most of these services.”

Medibank will continue to monitor claims activity for health services and will return permanent savings, as part of its commitment to not profit from COVID-19 and is expected to make further giveback announcements this financial year.
