More hospitals for adf healthcare scheme

Medibank Health Solutions has partnered with Healthscope, Australia's largest provider of integrated healthcare, as part of its arrangement to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to the Australian Defence Force.

The agreement will give eligible personnel access to healthcare services through 21 Healthscope hospitals in key national locations close to ADF bases. Healthscope hospitals are part of the 100 strong hospital network that Medibank Health Solutions has partnered with to provide services to ADF Personnel.

"Healthscope is Australia's largest provider of integrated healthcare services, with a network of top-quality hospitals across the country. They will be integral to our delivery of prompt healthcare treatment for 80,000 (permanent and reserve) eligible personnel," said Dr Andrew Wilson of Medibank Health Solutions.

This partnership is an important element of Medibank Health Solutions' four-year contract with the ADF's Joint Health Command to manage and coordinate healthcare services for all eligible ADF personnel nationally, from point of injury or illness through to recovery.

Through this new agreement, the healthcare services available for all ADF personnel will be enhanced including access to a state-of-the-art 24/7 health hotline delivering the full spectrum of triage, medical advice, referral and information services.

Under the terms of the agreement with ADF, Medibank Health Solutions will provide access to on and off-base medical practitioners and allied health professionals, radiology, pathology and optometry services, as well as the telehealth services.

"Our contract with Healthscope is further evidence of Medibank Health Solutions' commitment to provide the highest standards of healthcare for all servicemen and women," said Dr Wilson.
