Your tax statement info will be sent directly to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) in early July.

You’ll be also able to view or download a copy from My Medibank from 15 July.

You can view or download a copy of your tax statement online from My Medibank or view on the My Medibank app from 15 July.

Note: Only active members can access their online account on My Medibank.

Information needed to complete your tax return will be sent directly to the Australian Taxation Office. You can still go to My Medibank to view or download a copy of your statement, or you can request one by contacting us.

We’ll let you know by SMS or email if your statement generation will be delayed. As soon as it is available, you will be able to view and download it from My Medibank.

No, since the Australian Government Rebate (AGR) doesn’t apply for overseas health cover, nor does it provide exemption from the Medicare Levy Surcharge (MLS), you do not need this information for your tax return.

To encourage Australians to take out private health insurance and to make it more affordable, the government may offer a rebate on health cover premiums known as the Australian Government Rebate (AGR). Read more about the AGR and how it's calculated.

If you want to check you’re on the correct AGR income tier or change your income tier, here’s what to do:

1. You’ll find your current AGR tier on My Medibank Web under the ‘Me’ tab or in Medibank Mobile App under Me/Manage Payments/Australian Government Rebate (AGR)
2. You can then find the current AGR income tier bands here so you can check your income tier is still correct
3. If you need to change your AGR income tier you can easily change it in My Medibank Web or App
   1. Log in to your My Medibank account
   2. Navigate to the Australian Government Rebate information as above
   3. On My Medibank Web, click on the ‘Update details’ button and update your tier. On Medibank Mobile App click the ‘Edit’ button. Updating your AGR will result in a change to your premium, all changes will take effect the next time your payments are due. If the change results in a higher or lower premium this will only be effective from the next time you are due to pay.
4. If you can’t access My Medibank, and your AGR income tier is incorrect, you will need to contact us to change it.

Please note: if you have been on the wrong income tier the ATO will adjust your tax accordingly when processing your tax return. Medibank is unable to backdate your AGR income tier.
