We’re continuing to give cash back to members

Medibank will return a further $215 million to members* as part of its ongoing COVID-19 support package and give back program. This will bring our total give back support package to a record $1.37 billion.

We know every bit matters 

We promised we’d return any COVID-19 savings to members. Medibank members* who hold an active hospital and/or extras policy with Medibank on 30 June 2024 will be eligible for the cash back.
We hope this helps ease the load in the face of rising household costs.

What does this mean for you?

Cash back – Eligible Medibank members holding an active hospital and/or extras policy on 30 June 2024 will be eligible for the cash back. Members will receive their cash back by the end of September 2024.

Medibank members will receive at least $50 through the cash back program, with some receiving up to $360, depending on the level of cover you have. On average it will be around $55 for extras only policies and around $165 for hospital and extras policies.

You don’t need to do anything. If we have your bank details the funds will be transferred to the same bank account we pay your claims to.

We understand that members have not been able to access their usual health services, so we have extended Telehealth services for 9 allied health services such as psychology and physiotherapy.^
