The health of Aussie women – with and without children

Data from the Medibank Better Health Index was used to analyse the impact that having children under 18 can have on a woman’s health. In terms of overall health, women without children fared slightly better, with a Health Index Score of 101.89, as opposed to women with children’s score of 101.75. When looking at various lifestyle factors, the Index uncovered some interesting findings, for example women with kids exercise more often on average than those without, however they also were found to smoke more than those without.

Check out this interview with mum of three, Narelle, about how she thinks having kids has impacted her health.
