How to spend your extra hour this weekend

Clocks go back this weekend giving you the gift of a whole extra hour. How will you spend it?

We have a few ideas…

Get outside. Winter will be here before you know it – so make the most of the milder weather by getting out in the fresh air. Whether it’s along the beach, by a lake or just around the block, a walk will do your mind and body good.

Make granola. Take some nuts, oats, seeds, dried fruits, shredded coconut, cinnamon and honey and create your own custom granola mix. It’s quick, easy, healthy and delicious!

Meditate. In our whirlwind lives it can be hard to find time to take a break. Now that you have an hour you wouldn’t usually have, you officially have permission to pause. Block out some time to close your eyes, let go of stressful thoughts and calm your mind. You’ll feel rejuvenated after.

Prepare your week’s lunches. Put together some salads, stir frys or other lunch meals that will keep you going for a few days – imagine how great it will feel not to have to think about it each morning! If you’re stuck for inspiration, here are some healthy lunch ideas to try.

Do yoga. Stretch out your body, refresh your mind and breathe deeply. Yoga is a great way to connect with yourself and release tension, getting you ready to take on the week ahead.

Go for a bike ride. Take your treadlie out for a ride – there’s nothing like coasting through the autumn leaves with a cool breeze. Make it social and bring a friend along, or enjoy the meditative quiet.

Play with your pet. Spending time with animals is great for mindfulness and improving your mood. Give your furry one a little extra attention this weekend and chances are you’ll both feel happier.
