We take a look at Aussies’ weight and how they differ from the big smoke to the country

We compared the average BMIs of people in each state and territory, broken down into cities and regional areas. We found that on average, BMIs were higher in regional areas than in cities for all states except Tasmania, where Hobart reported a higher mean BMI than country Tassie. Looking at the states in general, Tasmania reported the highest average BMI in the city, while New South Wales had the lowest.
