Coffee Encounters

New book Coffee Encounters encourages reflection on the origins of our morning brew.

Documenting the journey of coffee from the growers through to the baristas, this beautiful book uncovers the people, the farms and the dedication behind every cup. Smudge Publishing, who produced the book, has established ‘Picking up the Pieces’, a charity inspired by two children they met in Guatemala while researching the book. Their adopted mother is a picker on one of the coffee farms and they live in very poor conditions. The fund is raising money to improve their quality of life, education and infrastructure. smudgepub.com.au

Reflecting the wave of the ‘paddock to plate’ movement and the shift to reconnect with the origin of our food, Coffee Encounters does just that for our morning brew.
