Are you getting enough sleep?

Lifestyle — Posted 06/07/15

Sleep. We all love it, but most of us don't get enough. Sleep Awareness Week, running over 6-12 July, is the perfect time to make some changes.

Do you get enough sleep at night? Chances are, maybe not. In a recent Medibank study, only 43% of a representative sample of Australians said they ‘always’ or ‘often’ get a full night’s sleep.

Sleeping well is essential for good health, and Sleep Awareness Week is the perfect reminder to take a look at your sleeping patterns, and make changes where you can to encourage longer, deeper and more restorative rest. A few tips to start with: get some exercise during the day, develop a calming bedtime routine, avoid alcohol before bed, and drink more water to stay hydrated.
