Enjoy a scenic run along the banks of the Yarra River and raise money for mental health research on Sunday 30 August.
Choose from a 5km, 10km or 15km course through the scenic bushland of Kew Boulevard on the banks of the Yarra River, in one Melbourne’s oldest and most loved fun runs.
The de Castella Run for Mental Health follows the course Australian marathon icon Robert de Castella (known as “Deeks” to the Australian public and “Tree” to his fellow runners due to his thick legs and inner calm) used to train on as a schoolboy, which helped make him one of the most impressive marathon runners in the world.
Funds raised from the event will assist the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre in its vital mission to find new treatment approaches for mental illness that really work.
Post-race, relax at the Mind and Body Expo, where family-friendly entertainment, complimentary massages and mini yoga sessions are on offer. Plus, there’s an great opportunity for kids aged 3-13 to take part in the SmartStart for Kids program, designed by Robert to promote fitness and wellbeing in the lives of primary school kids.
