Visualise the real personal impact of breast cancer at a moving and inspirational event at the MCG.
This year, 15,000 women and 120 men are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Though startling, it can sometimes be difficult to really visualise those numbers – and to connect them to the personal impact of breast cancer on our community.
Field of Women strives to change that, creating a moving visual representation that brings the statistics to life in a powerful and meaningful way. On Saturday 10 May, at the Melbourne vs. Western Bulldogs game, 15,000 people in pink ponchos and 120 in blue, and will stand on field at the MCG. Together the crowd will form the shape of a woman, as part of an inspirational ceremony honouring all those in our community who have been affected by breast cancer.
The event is presented by the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), the peak national organisation for Australians personally affected by breast cancer. BCNA’s mission is to support, inform, represent and connect Australians affected by breast cancer, working to ensure that people diagnosed with breast cancer get the very best treatment, care and support possible. Medibank is proud to be a supporter of this unique event.
