What does it do?
With the Medibank Mobile App, you can easily:
- Make on-the-spot claims for selected extras for you and any child dependents under 16 years old
- Check your cover details, including your membership details, cover name and annual limits
- Update your address, phone number and email address
- Check your claim history
- Find a Members' Choice hospital or healthcare provider near you
- Find a Medibank retail store and call Medibank's customer service line

The Medibank Mobile App works with iPhone and Android™ phones. If you're not sure your phone is compatible with Android™, check to see if you have an Android Market icon in your smartphone's menu.

Can I use the app if I'm not a Medibank Private Health Insurance member?
There are certain features anyone can use, such as the Members' Choice healthcare provider search. But to use the features relating to your membership, you must be a Medibank health insurance member (excluding corporate members). Learn more about Medibank Health Insurance
You can use your Medibank Online Member Services log in ID and password to login to use the app's features. It only takes a few minutes to join Online Member Services, and together with the Medibank Mobile App, you'll be able to manage your Medibank Health Insurance whenever and wherever you like.

I have Medibank Overseas Student Health Cover, Visitors Cover, Medibank Travel Insurance, Pet Insurance or Life Insurance, can I use the app?
For the moment some features of this app are only available for resident members with private health insurance. If you have Medibank Private Health Insurance in addition to one of our other services, the app will access the details of your health insurance only, not the details of any other Medibank insurance policies you may hold.

Extras claiming

Which extras can I claim for with the app?
You can submit claims for chiropractic, dental, optical or physiotherapy services (depending on your cover). Annual limits, waiting periods and restrictions apply, login to Online Member Services for more information.

What information do I need to make an extras claim using the app?
You'll find the information you need to make an extras claim on the invoice you receive from your healthcare provider. You‘ll need to know the:
- type of claim (e.g. dental)
- provider number
- item number of each service
- date the service was provided
- number of services
- cost of each service

How do I make an extras claim using the app?
To make an extras claim, open the app on your smartphone and select the ‘My Claims' icon. From there, select the ‘Make a claim' option and follow the instructions to submit your claim.
Once you have made the claim, ensure you record and keep your claim reference number for your records.

How can I check the status of my recent claims?
To view the details of your recent claim history, open the app and select the ‘My Claims' icon. From there, select ‘Claim History' and then choose the claim you wish to view. Here you can view the details of the claim and its status: whether it is being processed, is complete, or if you need to contact us to assist us in processing it.

Where will my benefits be paid to?
Your benefits will be paid to your nominated bank account or by a cheque in the mail, according to the option you chose when joining Medibank Online Member Services.

What is a Members' Choice provider?
Our Members' Choice network is one of the largest health provider networks in Australia, covering most private hospitals and the widest range of extras services of any health fund.
We've negotiated with these providers to ensure they won't charge you more than the agreed price, and we've arranged discounts off regular prices at optical retailers and for orthotics. Learn more about Members' Choice providers and Members' Choice Hospitals
The provider search is continuing to be developed and for the time being is limited to Members' Choice providers.

Location search

Why do I have to agree for the app to use my location before I search for a nearby provider or Medibank Retail store? What if I don't want the app to use my location?
This is a standard question for any app which uses the GPS in your smartphone to locate you and find services nearby.
If you do not wish the app to use your current location, just choose ‘No' when it requests your permission. You can still search for providers or Medibank retail stores by entering the suburb's name or postcode in search bar.
