Medibank Private has partnered with Lort Smith Animal Hospital to provide support and to work closely together to co-promote responsible pet ownership and the health benefits from the animal–human bond.
Established in 1935, Lort Smith Animal Hospital is the largest animal hospital in Australia, providing care for over 100,000 lost, abandoned, mistreated and sick animals every year. They provide high quality veterinary care at a reduced cost for the pets of people in need and pets that have no one to care for them.
Lort Smith Pet Therapy Program – PALS (Pets Are Loving Support)
Medibank is a proud supporter of Lort Smith’s PALS program. The PALS program has over 300 volunteers who visit hospitals, nursing homes and day care centres with their dogs to provide interaction, warmth and companionship to residents and patients.
As a not-for-profit organisation, Lort Smith relies on the community and corporate supporters like Medibank Private. They receive no government funding to support the work they do. Find out how you can help.
