If you are an existing Medibank Private member, you should register or login to Online Member Services to change your cover.

What you need to Join Online

  • You will need details for your direct debit, such as
    • Credit Card, or
    • Bank, Credit Union or Building Society account.
  • If you are deducting the Federal Government rebate as a reduced premium, please ensure you have your Medicare Card number.
  • You will need access to a printer, as some forms need to be printed.
  • If you're switching from another fund, you'll need your previous cover details for your clearance certificate.
  • If you would prefer to join Medibank Private via telephone, please call 132 331, or to join in person visit one of our Retail Centres.

What you need to Join Online

  • Your cover starts on the commencement date you specify.
  • Your Welcome Pack will arrive within two weeks containing your membership card and details of your new cover.
  • You may need to complete additional forms such as the Federal Government Rebate, a Clearance Certificate if you're switching from another fund, or a Direct Debit form.
