Great if you’re young, healthy and want cover just in case you have an accident and are admitted to hospital.

What's covered?

Included services:

We pay benefits towards in-hospital treatment for injuries sustained in an accident. This includes things like:

  • Surgery on broken bones
  • Knee or shoulder reconstructions
  • Insertion of pins and screws (surgically implanted protheses and other items on the Federal Government's Prostheses Schedule
  • In-hospital rehabilitation treatment for injuries sustained in an accident.

For the included services listed above, we'll pay benefits towards (less any applicable excess):

  • Private hospital accommodation
  • - Private room
  • - Same day admission
  • - Intensive care
  • - Theatre fees
  • Public hospital accommodation as a private patient
  • - Overnight accommodation in a shared or private room
  • - Same day admissions (shared room only)

Restricted services

In all circumstances we pay the minimum benefits set by the Federal Government towards:

  • In-hospital psychiatric care
  • In-hospital palliative care
  • In-hospital rehabilitation (unless the treatment is for injuries sustained in an accident) – then it's an included service.

What's not covered?

Excluded services:

You'll receive no benefits for all other services that are not included or restricted services.

Your excess

The excess is $500. An excess is an amount that you agree to pay if admitted to hospital in exchange for lower premiums. It is paid per member per calendar year.
