What's covered?

Included services:

We pay benefits towards in-hospital treatment for injuries sustained in an accident. This includes things like:

• Surgery on broken bones
• Knee or shoulder reconstructions
• Insertion of pins and screws (surgically implanted prostheses and other items on the Federal Government's Prostheses Schedule)
• In-hospital rehabilitation treatment for injuries sustained in an accident.

For these services we pay benefits towards (less any applicable excess):

• Private hospital accommodation

• - Overnight accommodation in a private or shared room
• - Same day admissions
• - Intensive care
• - Theatre fees

• Public hospital accommodation as a private patient

• - Overnight accommodation in a private or shared room
• - Same day admissions (shared room only)

• Medically necessary ambulance transport

Restricted services

In all circumstances we pay the minimum benefits set by the Federal Government towards:

• In-hospital psychiatric care
• In-hospital palliative care
• In-hospital rehabilitation (unless the treatment is for injuries sustained in an accident – then it's an included service).

What's not covered?

Excluded services:

You'll receive no benefits for all other services that are not included or restricted services.

Your excess

The excess is $500. An excess is an amount that you agree to pay if admitted to hospital in exchange for lower premiums. It is paid per member per calendar year.
