Going to hospital shouldn't leave you with unexpected expenses when you have hospital cover – but it can happen. That's why we have a scheme called GapCover used by a large number of specialists, which can help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. Before you go to hospital, you'll need to talk to your specialist to find out if they will participate.
Ambulance transport
You're covered for Medically necessary ambulance transport if you need to go to hospital but, because of your medical condition, there's no other way of getting there except by ambulance. Benefits for this are included in all hospital covers listed on this website except where you're entitled to claim costs of ambulance transport from another source, such as ambulance subscription or State Government ambulance transport schemes.
