Flexi-Fund
The Flexi-Fund is a feature of Smart Choice Extras and allows you to claim up to a set limit for a range of extras services you may require, such as chiropractic and acupuncture. These services are in addition to following core services:
- General Dental
- Optical items
- Physiotherapy
- Non-PBS Pharmaceutical Prescriptions
- Medically Necessary Ambulance Transport.
betterhealth Online
With extras cover, you'll have automatic access to betterhealth Online, one of our betterhealth Programs. This interactive online program provides access to a range of health services and is designed to support your health and wellbeing. Find out more.
Medically Necessary Ambulance Transport
For residents of all States, except Qld and Tas, Benefits for Medically Necessary Ambulance Transport are included in all extras covers.

Members' Choice Extras
We have negotiated agreements with a large number of extras providers across Australia to provide you with greater value and, in most cases, higher Benefits for treatments, capped fees or discounts on some services. Our Members' Choice Network includes a wide range of extras providers including dentists, dental prosthetists, optical retail outlets, chiropractors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, acupuncturists and naturopaths.
Therefore, if you take out extras cover and choose to be treated by a Members' Choice Extras Provider you can get more from your cover, including:
- a free check-up, scale and clean twice a year at a Members' Choice dentist for each Member on your cover
- great deals with our Members' Choice optical retail network including 20% minimum discount off the normal retail price of frames and 15% discount off lenses, contact lenses, add-ons and sunglasses.

Claim on-the-spot
Avoid queues and make an on-the-spot claim for many extras services at participating providers. Simply present your Membership card when paying for your treatment and the Benefit will be automatically deducted from your bill. You just pay the balance.
Online claiming
Register now for our Online Member Serivces, and save yourself some time by claiming for your extras services online. After your eClaim has been processed, if a Benefit is payable a cheque will be sent to the Contributor on your Membership.
